“I recently switched to McAfee. I live in Korea, and today it caught the Conflicker virus attempting to jump onto my computer the instant I plugged in a thumb drive. Now that’s quick! McAfee also works silently in the background to ensure optimal performance. Unlike Norton that would take me hours to set up rules and schedules, McAfee efficiently runs on auto pilot. Norton sounds bells and whistles when it finds an virus, but McAfee effectively erases them without all the excitement and alarm(take for example the way Norton lists every cookie as a potential security threat- that’s hardly the case).”

“I’ve used McAfee for three years now, and am happy with its anti-virus protection. Annoying were the pop-ups that occassionally come, reminding me in effect of its presence on my computer and distracting from work. So far, I haven’t seen that on the 2010 version…hope it continues its stealth protection!”

“Every PC needs security software. If you’re a technical guru who really understands all of the niche products out there, you won’t be reading Amazon reviews to pick your security software. If you’re just a plain old user, like me, you’ll have already realized that there are two big names in security software, Norton and McAfee, and that they are more similar than different. I have Norton running on two computers in my small office and McAfee on three others. I wish that I could report a clear-cut winner between the two, but they both seem to work well, and both have costs in terms of system performance.”

Customer Testimonials:
“Build quality seems to be great. It has a nice “rubberized” feel to the back and I believe its a bit thicker than the Kindle. Sony is an established “quality” company and I do not think you can go wrong here. Wireless is on its way from Sony but honestly? Its not a big deal in my humble opinion. I can purchase or find free books, load up a few onto the device through my USB port in a matter of minutes, and then I am set for a while. Additionally, I was able to get all of my older purchases from Sony (another reason I bought Sony again) back onto this unit. I simply was not ready or willing to give those up!”

“I’ve had the Sony Reader 505 for 5 months and loved it, just upgraded to the Touch version. You are not forced to buy from Amazon, Sony eBook store has most everything Amazon does, and you can request if something is missing. Free books on Google, specially formatted for Sony reader, No ugly keyboard at the bottom, but a virtual keyboard and can use a stylus or fingers. Expandable memory slots, 2 of ‘em! Can borrow books from library. It looks much cooler than the Kindle and the note functions and editing a page is great.”

“I received mine about a week and a half ago. The screen has better clarity than the 700 and the touch screen is more responsive. With the touch screen, the device seems more like an actual book. I can manipulate it directly without using the buttons. This is what one does with a book after all. Since the screen is as sensitive as it is, I can hold it with either hand in any position, and with just a slight swipe the page changes. The page changes are much faster too. You don’t even notice them. Love the dictionary, but you have to actually select a word in the text to use it. Would be nicer if you could just access the dictionary from the home screen. The hand writing feature is very nice as well. It is not wireless. But, I have so many books on it that if I took off for a month, I would not have time to read them all. Anyway… pros: touch screen is sensitive, page turns are fast, like the dictionary and handwriting function. But… cons: Need easy access for the dictionary, clarity not as nice as the 505. Loses one star. Still a very nice device.”

Customer Testimonials:
“This is our second Kindle, bought this one for my husband mainly for the Wall Street Journal. They raised their subscription prices so much over the last couple of years (doubled) that we figured it’d only take two years for this to pay for itself over the print edition. No more calling them, almost monthly, that our paper wasn’t delivered…again! It’s also nice to be able to download books onto both devices.”

“I LOVE!!! my DX. I didn’t like the size at first until I enlarged the type and figured out that there is more on the page then with the smaller Kindle. When I get tired of one book I can book mark my page and move to another book with out being upset that my other book/s are packed away or left in a room because of the bulk of carrying more then one book. Authors have asked me how I like the Kindle and if I miss turning pages. I tell them that it is being Green, I don’t miss turning pages but I do miss them signing my book. So I carry post-its around to get authors to sign.”

“I was impressed with the “regular” Kindle. However, the DX, because of its larger size, has taken my Kindle experience to a new level. The size of the screen face makes it more comparable to the pages of a physical book.”

Customer Testimonials:
“Like most people, I was a little apprehensive towards switching to Mac. I can honestly say that I’m so happy I did. The main thing that I love is I can surf the web and download apps without worrying about catching a virus! Also everything seems to work fine with this machine. With PC it seems like I always had problems or little error windows popping up. I’ve only had it for a couple of months, but it’s been totally carefree. It’s so worth the price.”

“I have no regret of the purchase I made. It’s a bit expensive tough but totally worth it. It’s very comfortable to use and the sound and image really amazes me.”

“This MacBook has everything you need : power, lightweight, and stylish. It fits my day to day digital lifestyle.”

A federal court’s decision this week to award Facebook a staggering $711 million in damages from a convicted spammer probably won’t serve as much a deterrent to future attacks on social networks.

Customer Testimonials:
“I used to be lukewarm to Norton. You know the drill: resource hog, etc. That was
then. Forget the old Norton: since 2009 they have produced some of the leanest, fastest, meanest virus killing software on the market. This is what now makes me a proud owner of a Norton product. There was a time when having a Norton product on a machine was as bad as having an AOL account and using Altavista. Not anymore. I am a PC enthusiast, and I am so convinced this product is great that I never shy away from telling my PC enthusiast friends about it.”

“Internet security systems have supporters & detractors. They spend a large amount of time & effort telling you why one is better or worse. For the advanced user, many bad things can be said about any of the systems. For the basic user, Norton is usually the best choice. Easy to install with frequent updates this is a very workable system without being burdensome. Whenever I have used another system, I have come to regret not using Norton. This is the flagship product with the most options for protection and tuning.”

“Since Norton rebuilt their suite from the ground up with the 2009 version, I’ve been very happy with the product. The 2010 version seems to be a good follow up. These suites are first Norton products I’ve either used or tested in the last 12 years that haven’t bogged down my system. The older versions were so bad, that I gave up on Norton for a number of years. Not only were the older versions resource hogs, they were very susceptible various malware, even ones written specifically for Norton products (and they would cripple Norton and create havoc on the rest of the system). I’ve yet to see that happen with the newer generation of security suites (2009 – 2010).”

“I am totally impressed with the design, performance, convenience and every aspect of this great invention.”

“ Much better than packing around books in my carry-on.”

“I love this thing! I read a lot when I go to bed. I have problems with my wrists and the hardcover books are heavy. I love that I do not have to “turn” the pages and can just use one hand to hold it. I love that I can access new books whenever I want and save money at the same time.”
